Case Study: It’s Not Only Chris Evans Who Paints His Cars White…

No doubt you will have heard about the Radio DJ and TV presenter’s beautiful Ferrari collection. Chris Evans had many of them re-sprayed in white so they looked amazing together.

It has been over 6 years since we last had a request for a white Figaro but recently we’ve had quite a number of requests. It may be no coincidence that more of the mainstream prestige marques are producing white cars but, regardless, we think you will agree that the Figaro in white looks terrific.

The three white cars we are working on this month have varied interior colour schemes ranging from red to blue to black, but with beautiful Italian leather and white piping, they will all look amazing.

As with all of our restoration projects we start with a thorough appraisal of the mechanical side of the vehicle. This month’s featured car was in good condition, although we did replace the suspension, steering and brakes so everything was in tip top condition.

A full body re-spray is the perfect opportunity to examine the bodywork in minute detail. It doesn’t matter how good the paint is – if there’s a dent or some uneven bodywork it will show, so we spend a lot of time on every curve of the Figgy with the latest tools and even an old fashioned panel beater! Before we apply any paint, the car needs to be as smooth as silk. Then, with our airtight Paint Shop bay we can lovingly apply three coats of special white Figgy paint and then buff the surface to a flawless new car shine.

We received this really nice testimonial from Nigel Bonham, who collected the first of the white Figaros we are currently working on:

“I just wanted to say a very big thank you for the car. I have to say when I drove up I was stunned with the end product, which has far exceeded my expectations . Those who have seen it are amazed at the finish and the paint work is first class . Can you say a big thank you to all those who worked on it and as a company you should be very proud of what you do. I have to say it was well worth the wait and I hope I will get years of enjoyment from it and will have no hesitation in recommending you.”
