This editable guide follows the 7 minute 10 second installation video. It covers removal of the original intake and throttle parts, fitting the new engine bay hardware, and installing the ECU and electronic accelerator pedal. Times refer to the video.
Before starting Confirm the kit matches the car and follow the supplier’s wiring and calibration instructions. Work on a cool engine, isolate the battery, and handle coolant or exhaust work safely. Photograph and label each connector and hose before removal.
1 Clear access and remove redundant parts
01 Remove the intake ducting (00:07 to 00:13)
Take off the rubber intake boots, crossover pipe and resonator to expose the existing throttle body. Keep clamps and fixings organised.
02 Remove the original throttle body and cables (00:13 to 00:31)
Disconnect the throttle cable and kick-down cable, then remove the original throttle body. The presenter removes the kick-down cable bracket because the new setup no longer uses it.
03 Prepare the inlet openings (00:31 to 01:05)
Remove the original cold-start components and associated fittings shown in the video. Clean each mating face before fitting a new gasket. The presenter replaces unneeded studs with short bolts and blanks unused openings.
04 Deal with unused plugs and airflow meter (01:05 to 01:25; 02:02 to 02:45)
Disconnect the old throttle body, cold-start valve and airflow-meter plugs that the conversion no longer uses. Tidy and secure the unused wiring; do not cut it merely to hide it. Remove the old airflow-meter assembly as shown.
Cold-start opening Seal the former opening. The presenter mentions cutting and welding its old stub for a neater appearance, but also says it can be blanked by another suitable method.
2 Fit the engine bay hardware
Follow the kit-supplied gaskets, brackets and fasteners for the exact parts fitted to your car.
05 Install the new throttle body (02:47 to 02:57)
Fit the new gasket and throttle body to the inlet, then bolt the mounting bracket into position. Check that the throttle opens and returns freely.
06 Blank and reconnect the inlet ports (02:57 to 03:35)
Fit the blanking plate with its gasket to the unused port. Fit the other gasketed mounting piece and its vacuum take-off. Fit the rear mounting bracket and gasket shown behind the inlet. Cap every opening that the kit does not use.
07 Loop the former throttle-body coolant feed (01:26 to 01:37; 03:35 to 03:55)
The coolant line that previously fed the old throttle body is capped and joined back into the waterway, forming the loop shown. Secure the connections and later check for leaks.
08 Replace the lambda sensor (01:40 to 01:50; 03:09 to 03:20)
Gain access beside the turbocharger, remove the original lambda sensor and fit the replacement. Route its lead away from the hot turbo and exhaust.
09 Prepare the harness pass-through (01:50 to 02:01)
Remove the grommet beside the fuel filter, on the left of the area shown, and pass the new wiring into the cabin. Protect and seal the opening after routing.
3 Install the ECU wiring and pedal
10 Open the cabin access (03:58 to 04:55)
Remove the side panel, lower dashboard trim and stereo to reach the ECU and original wiring. Move the vent duct temporarily if it blocks access; refit it afterwards.
11 Mount and connect the ECU (04:01 to 04:39)
Position the new ECU as shown. Bring the new harness through the engine-bay grommet, route it behind the air box in the cabin, and connect it to the original harness using the kit connectors. Keep the separate laptop or service connector accessible.
12 Fit the electronic accelerator pedal (05:14 to 05:55)
Attach the new pedal brackets to the original pedal box. The video shows one additional fixing hole drilled through two layers of metal; check behind the drilling point first. Bend or adjust the bracket until the pedal sits correctly and moves freely.
13 Kick down Cable and Bracket
Connect up the kick down cable and fit the solenoid and bracket. Check the operation by popping the ignition on and depressing the pedal once fitted up. You should see the cable being pulled inwards.
14 Secure reassemble and check (05:55 to 07:10)
Secure unused connectors and the removed cable, refit the air duct, stereo and trim, and confirm hoses, blanking plates, clamps and wiring are secure. Check coolant level and leaks. The video shows the engine running at the end; verify pedal response and complete kit-specific ECU setup before driving.
Video limits The clip shows a completed conversion and selected operations. It does not give a pin-by-pin wiring diagram, exact fastener torques
