And The Winner Is…TOPAZ MIST!

So far this month, we have sourced and refurbished four Figgys – all in the beautiful timeless classic and rare colour of Topaz Mist. We’ve resprayed a black Figgy, a white Figgy and an orange Figgy too, but there’s clearly a resurgence in traditional Topaz Mist. What is additionally interesting is that the most requested internal colours are universally modern and bright – ivory leather with red piping, for example. Diane from Bristol approached us with her refurbishment project and, yes, she wanted a beautiful shiny new Topaz Mist finish. As ever, we start our refurbishment projects with our renowned mechanical procedures under the bonnet. Diane’s Figaro did need some attention and, as safety is our number one concern, this time we completely replaced the steering rack. The brakes also needed attention and the rear suspension required some updated components too. Fortunately, the engine was in great condition – she had consistently serviced her Figgy at regular intervals and this had really paid off. We then sanded down all of the car’s surfaces and stripped the car down to its shell in preparation for painting. Even though she chose the classic Topaz Mist, we always use modern paint and anti-scratch lacquers. As you can clearly see from her photos, the result is a beautiful gloss finish that we would argue actually looks better than the original factory finish 24 years ago!
