Description
The Nissan Figaro has always suffered with an inadequate cooling system, especially in hotter and more humid climates. This is down to a few reasons; an antiquated brass/copper radiator, lack of under hood airflow, failing raditor fan switches and a very compact engine bay. All these factors can create a huge issue within an already weak system causing minor failures like slight overheating to major/catastrophic failures such as blown head gaskets, warped cylinder heads and damaged engine blocks.
The radiator fan switch on the Nissan Figaro is a sensor located in the base of the radiator that has the sole control of the radiator fan itself. It is a sensitive copper sensor that is designed to expand from heat in 2 stages to turn the fan on when it reaches a preset temperature. Stage one will turn the fan on slowly and stage 2 will make the fan cool the engine to its maximum capability. Due to its sensitive design, the sensors can become inaccurate over time and fail causing the fan not to turn on or turn on at the wrong temperatures which in turn can cause the engine to over heat, The oem equivalent sensor is a direct fit with the correct plug and is very easy to fit.
