The Nissan Figaro is equipped with a low compression, fuel injected turbocharged MA10ET 987cc 4 cylinder powerplant which is perfectly suited to the chassis. This model specific engine utilises lower compression pistons, as well a lower compression cylinder head to cope with the extra pressure created from the turbocharger. Over time, the engine will suffer wear and tear and a very common issue are the cylinders wearing from use. The cylinders have a tendency of ovalling at the top of the compression cycle causing burning oil, piston slap, loss of compression and loss of power.

Fitting high quality, low compression 0.5mm oversize pistons requires a machinist to bore the cylinders 0.5mm larger than stock. This not only ensures a perfect compression seal for the new piston but also eliminates the oval cylinder that causes the main issues in an older engine. Used in all of our reconditioned engines, these pistons have stood the test of time and offer a great way to give the MA10ET engine another reliable lease of life. The pistons are sold singularly and come complete with a full ring set and gudgeon pin. We always recommend replacing all 4 pistons for reliability and balance.
