Nissan Figaro Airflow Meter (MAF) – Used

Description

The Nissan Figaro is equipped with a 987cc fuel injected turbocharged MA10ET engine which is perfectly suited to the vehicle. Due to the engine being fuel injected, it is equipped with an Engine Control Unit (ECU) that monitors and adjusts fuel and timing to ensure the engine is running at its most efficient within a pre set parameter range.

In order for the ECU to calculate these adjustments many times per second, the computer needs to know how much air the engine is drawing in via the turbo and consuming. This is done via the MAF / Air Flow Meter. The MAF (Mass Air Flow) is a very sensitive and complicated module that monitors the intake air temperature and volume of air being consumed. Originally developed by Hitachi for Nissan, this module is specific to the Figaro and there are no viable replacements for it. Due to its age and sensitivity, these units can fail and replacements are very hard to find.

Common Faults include:

• Vehicle will not rev past 2000 rpm
• Very poor running / Over-fuelling

We at The Figaro Shop, at times, have stock of good, used and tested units. These will be a direct replacement for the original and are very simple to fit.

Note* – We have had instances where the air flow meter has failed due to an ECU failure causing higher voltage being sent to the sensitive module. Should this be the case, fitting a good used air flow meter will damage it and will therefor not be useable. All of our units are tested prior to packaging to ensure functionality. We are not able to accept these units back due to damage being caused from a faulty ecu. Please have a professional check before purchasing.
