The Nissan Figaro employs the use of an expansion bottle for the cooling system in which water expelled from the radiator when the system surpasses the pre-set pressure of the radiator cap can drain in to. This water is then replenished into the radiator by means of vacuum when the radiator cools down. The bottle itself, due to age, can crack and leak meaning that water that is meant to be in the cooling system is lost.
