Nissan Figaro Timing Belt Tensioner Spring

The Nissan Figaro is equipped with a model specific MA10ET turbocharged engine and is synchronised using a timing belt. The belt itself is a critical service part that must be checked and replaced according to the correct service schedule of your vehicle. The belt must be tightened to the correct tension using the cam belt tensioner bearing (included in our timing belt kit) and to assist in achieving the correct tension, a timing belt tensioner spring is used. The spring is designed to put pressure on the leg of the tensioner bearing to assist in tensioning the timing belt. Too loose and the timing belt can jump and the engine can be out of time… too tight and the stresses on the belt can cause it to snap. Although the spring is not a regular maintenance part, it is advised to check its tension and replace when necessary.
