The Nissan Figaro, due to its age, is equipped with a mechanical hand brake mechanism which utilises 2 handbrake cables attached to the hand brake lever to actuate the brake shoes within the rear drums to operate the handbrake. Over time, the handbrake cables can stretch, making the handbrake inefficient or in the worst cases can seize making the handbrake inoperative.

Each handbrake cable is sided, one for the left and one for the right side of the vehicle, and replacing them with OE quality is paramount to ensure a reliable lifespan. The right hand cable may also be equipped with a balancer mechanism depending on availability. Please choose the side you need from the options when purchasing.
