The Nissan Figaro is equipped with a 987cc, 4 cylinder, Turbocharged MA10ET engine which was specifically designed for the chassis. In the range of pike cars the Figaro belonged to, the vehicle received the most modern engine in the range.

The engine is fitted with an oil pressure relief valve which is designed to return over pressured oil back to the oil sump. An engine likes to work within a maximum oil pressure range and anything over that maximum range can cause leaks, damage to the oil pump as well as potential damage to the engine itself.

Located in the oil filter housing, this simple valve comprises of a casing with a ball bearing and a specific spring; once too much pressure is present, the oil pushes the ball bearing away from the casing and the oil is bypassed back to the oil sump.

A new one is fitted to all of our Fully Reconditioned Engines to ensure the optimal oil pressure conditions.
