The power assisted steering rack in a Nissan Figaro is secured to the vehicles subframe using 2 specific clamps. Within those clamps are 2 specially formed bushings that retain the rack tightly in place and isolate harsh vibrations generated from the road surface. The reinforced bushings tend to wear over time causing play within the brackets of the steering rack, can cause noises when turning and the inability to accurately set the vehicles’ tracking.

The polyurethane bushings are sold individually and are an easy fit. The Polyurethane bush is a perfect reproduction of the rubber original and due to its construction, will be a harder and longer lasting alternative that is also cost saving. The bush is moulded perfectly around the steering rack mounting locations to ensure a secure and accurate fit and will eliminate most clunking and wayward tracking associated with the failure of these critical bushings. Being polyurethane, it can transmit more road noise than the original rubber variants. There is an “O” shaped bush and a “D” shaped bush on the steering rack. This is for the “O” shaped only. We always advise changing the bushes in pairs
