On any vehicle, one of the most important safety components is the braking system. Under a huge amount of stress, the braking system must endure vast temperature changes, corrosive brake dust accumulations and constant use. All this combined can cause the a breakdown of the system over time. The Nissan Figaro is equipped with hydraulic brake calipers on the front axle. The hydraulic fluid is fed from the brake master cylinder to the calipers in order to squeeze the brake pads to the brake discs to create friction which in turn will slow the vehicle from speed. This hydraulic fluid is pumped into pistons located in the caliper body and in order for the fluid to pressurise and remain in the body, the pistons of the calipers have dust seals and pressure seals. As brake fluid is quite corrosive, the pistons and seals tend to corrode and deteriorate causing leaks and seizing of the calipers.

The most simple solution is the replacement of the complete caliper assemblies. Only sold in pairs in the interest of safety and brake balance efficiency, our reconditioned brake calipers have been expertly stripped to bare components, measured to ensure they are in spec, acid dipped, electroplated for corrosion resistance and rebuilt using all new pistons, seals, slider pins and bleed nipples. The Nissan Figaro refurbished brake calipers are as good as when the vehicle was new and will offer greater braking efficiency and safety.
