The Nissan Figaro is equipped with a 987cc Turbo Charged MA10ET 8 Valve engine and as the engine is over 30 years old, wear and tear can occur on the engines’ rocker shaft. The shaft is designed to hold all 8 rockers that actuate the 8 valves by serving as a hinge point from the lobes on the camshaft to the physical valves themselves. Over time, the rocker shaft is subjected to quite a few lateral forces and heat cycles causing wear and tear and can also snap due to poor valve clearance adjustment.
