The Nissan Figaro’s iconic folding roof is covered in a hard wearing, foldable and weather resistant ivory coloured vinyl trimming. This trimming is bonded to the structural front and rear roof bows that form the structure of the roof mechanism. Due to its length and in order to keep the length of the roof covering tensioned from front to rear, the Nissan Figaro employs the use of a ” spring and cable” tensioner system that tensions the length of the roof covering when the roof is fully closed.

Attached to both front and rear roof bow with rivets, the roof bow tensioner is manufactured with an encapsulated tensioner wire attached to a specific strength spring enclosed in the front bracket to allow the correct tension on the roof covering. The original system is prone to corrosion, snapped cabled and seized/corroded tensioner springs rendering the system ineffective.
