Workshop Manager at The Figaro Shop, Didcot

We are currently looking for a Workshop Manager to join our accomplished, experienced team with a background in the automotive sector. Reporting to the General Manager we are seeking an individual to complement our dedicated workshop team and support our growing customer base.
Key Responsibilities & Attributes Required:
- Responsible for motivating and managing the workshop team – supervising the output of the technicians, as well as maintaining workshop targets.
- Clear and effective communicator able to energise and support department peers and aid the successful flow of work between the other key departments, including our Bodyshop and Parts Sales.
- Planning, reporting and monitoring work levels to maximise the work output is key within this role. This includes, but is not limited to, pro-active follow up on all enquiries, identifying up-selling opportunities, monitoring quality of workmanship and providing approval of vehicles ready to return to their owners.
- This role is onsite in Didcot, Oxfordshire (reachable by train or car – parking is available)
Sales
Through use of the dealer management system, our evaluation program and account work, carefully manage day to day and long-term opportunities to increase workflow through the workshop and maximise space and vehicle technician ability.
Follow-up on all enquiries, get estimates out in a timely fashion and identify upsell opportunities. Recognise and interrogate new customer accounts to reveal potential and increase sales.
People
Support the day to day running of the workshop ensuring operational efficiencies. Hold daily workflow meetings with the workshop team to ensure they are fully informed and understand the requirement for each customer vehicle.
Customers
Friendly and professional manner with customers is paramount. You will report back to customers with diagnostics and mechanical requirements, helping customers to understand the work required and gaining their approval before proceeding with works. Where required, liaise with inter-department managers to gain knowledge and present a comprehensive summary back to the customer. Provide regular updates to customers by phone and by email, building trust and rapport, and ensure professionalism throughout every customer touch point.
KPI
Daily tracking and management of enquiries, estimates, bookings, active jobs, invoicing and targets through our internal CRM system.
Methodically, invoice and check off customer jobs through the DMS system and using Google Sheets/Excel.
Compile weekly, monthly and quarterly KPIs to present back to the management team.
Score and maintain a high customer satisfaction rating (9-10) from all customer surveys.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and qualifications:
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- Ability to take initiative and ownership of issues with a can-do attitude
- Ability to multi-task and at times doing so under pressure
- Full valid UK driving licence
- A track record of success in delivering against targets
- Strong customer service skills to ensure everyone has a positive experience and possess the ability to maximise on potential up-selling opportunities
- Strong attention to detail
