The Nissan Figaro is equipped with a turbocharged, 4 cylinder, fuel injected MA10ET engine mated to a 3 speed automatic gearbox with model specific gear ratios to suit the vehicles power output. As with most automatic transmissions, the use of a torque converter is employed, a fluid coupling to connect the power from the engine, to the gearbox through hydraulic fluid. It is similar to the clutch in a manual transmission equipped vehicle.

Over time, the torque converter can wear out and begin to show signs of failure such as:

• Sluggish/Delayed Acceleration
• Gears Slipping
• Rough Gear Change
• Judder/Vibration At Certain Speeds
• Overheating Transmission

The torque converter starts off as a used original Nissan Unit and is rebuilt from inside out replacing all worn parts before being re-welded shut, dynamically balanced and finally pressure tested as part of the quality control process.
